Have some summer fun!

Here are a few classes for teenagers and adults still available in our Summer session. A new session will start in the Fall

Collage Clinic with Marilyn Rock
Sunday, 7/19  10:00am-12:00noon, $20
This fun activity opens the possibility of developing new friendships, sharing the love of art, bringing current projects to finish, and beginning new collages with Marilyn to guide you. New techniques will be offered as well as plenty of supplies on hand to spark the imagination and offer inspiration. This kind of activity allows sharing of ideas, observing what everyone is doing, learning from one another and blocking out some art time for ourselves. Participants are welcome to bring in any personal items they might want to share with the group or use in their own work.  

Altered Book Club with Marilyn Rock
Fridays(2nd Friday of each month), 6:30-8:30
7/10 $20
Come together with other people working on their altered book projects. Share ideas and supplies as Marilyn is on hand to help everyone continue to make progress on these long-term projects.

Creating a Storyboard and Book Dummy with Daniel J. Mahoney
2 classes: Wednesdays, 6-9 pm
7/15, 7/22 $90 + list of supplies
The storyboard and book dummy are essential tools in creating an outstanding picture book. Here you will learn the basics of preparing a professional presentation to a children's book publisher. We will cover the pacing of a story over 32 pages, book size and design, different types of illustrations typically used, text placement, and art composition on each page. Please bring a manuscript to work from.

Mixed-Media Painting/Collage on Alternative Substrate with Marilyn Rock
2 classes Saturdays, 7/18, 7/25 9:30 – 3:30
$150 + $18 supply fee + students will need to bring in a cabinet door or other architectural element to use as the substrate (we will guide you through this)
This is a two-day workshop. Marilyn will demonstrate her method of creating a mixed-media acrylic painting with collage inclusions on a architectural substrate. Students will create their own complete mixed media painting over the two days of the workshop.
